Second Spring Organic Sprouted Amaranth
Sprouted amaranth has a soft, creamy texture and an earthy flavour that lends to both sweet and savoury dishes. Sprouting amaranth decreases cook time, improves digestibility and enhances its flavour.
Organic Sprouted Amaranth is a complete protein, and is also high in iron and fibre. It is a cousin to quinoa, spinach and beets, and like quinoa, is actually a seed (pseudocereal), not a grain.
Amaranth is delightful as a creamy breakfast porridge, a base for grain bowls and as a topper for green salads. You can also incorporate cooked amaranth into your muffins and quick breads for added flavour and texture. It has an earthy flavour, and is a unique alternative to quinoa.
